1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Unifi app, website, and related services (“Service”), operated by Unifi App Limited (“Unifi”, “we”, “our”, “us”).
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
To use the Unifi platform, you confirm that you:

Are at least 16 years old.

Are currently enrolled at or have an offer from a UK university.

Have not previously been banned from using Unifi.

Will comply with all applicable laws and these Terms.
3. Your Unifi Account
To use most features of the app, you must create a Unifi account. You agree that:

All information you provide is truthful, accurate, and up-to-date.

You will maintain the accuracy of your account details at all times.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You will notify us within 48 hours if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

You will not impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity, or use another user’s account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that is found to violate these terms, including accounts with offensive, misleading, or unlawful usernames or profiles.
4. User Conduct and Behaviour
You agree not to post, share, or transmit any content through the Unifi platform that:

Is unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, hateful, or defamatory.

Contains viruses, malware, or any harmful code or scripts.

Violates the intellectual property rights of others.

Is spam, promotional in nature, or machine-generated.
-
Could reasonably be considered harmful to minors or vulnerable individuals.

Encourages criminal activity or antisocial behaviour.
Unifi operates a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour. We reserve the right to remove content and terminate accounts that breach our guidelines.
5. Community Guidelines and Chat Conduct
The Unifi app includes community-driven group chats and social features. These chats:

Are public within the platform and accessible to all verified student users and venue partners.

Are moderated for offensive, unlawful, or inappropriate content.
-
Must remain respectful, inclusive, and relevant to the purpose of the group.

May not be used to promote illegal activity or harassment.
Users may report violations via the in-app reporting tool. We aim to review all reports within 24 hours and take appropriate action.
6. Content Sharing and Third-Party Links

You are responsible for any content you post, including text, photos, and external links.

You grant Unifi a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display your posted content within the platform.

Unifi may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability. Visiting third-party sites is at your own risk.
7. Intellectual Property

Unifi, including all logos, trademarks, designs, and technology, is owned by Unifi App Limited.

You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of our materials without our prior written consent.

Other trademarks appearing in the app belong to their respective owners.
8. User-Generated Content
By submitting or posting content on Unifi, you represent and warrant that:

You own or have the right to share the content.

The content does not infringe the rights of others.
-
The content is not false, misleading, or harmful.
-
You accept full responsibility for the content you share.
9. Advertising and Promotions

Unifi may show you promotions, discounts, and sponsored content relevant to students and your location.

Some features (such as venue listings or discount offers) may be promoted by third-party partners who have agreed to our data protection terms.
10. Discounts and Offers

Student discounts displayed in the app are provided by third-party venues.

Offers may change or be removed without notice based on availability or partner changes.

Venues reserve the right to deny discounts in cases of misconduct, invalid ID, or breach of their terms.

Users must upload a clear, identifiable profile picture for their Unifi Card to be valid in participating venues.
11. Unifi Card and Loyalty Programme

Students can generate a free Unifi Card (digital QR code) upon verification with a university email address.

Venues may scan this card at checkout to apply discounts and loyalty points.

Loyalty points accumulate per transaction and unlock rewards determined by the venue.

This scanning process allows Unifi and participating venues to log your name, email address, and visit timestamp.

The data is used solely for marketing and loyalty purposes by the venue, provided the user has opted in via Unifi’s double opt-in system.
12. Data Protection and Privacy

All data is collected and processed in compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Students must opt in twice before their data is shared with participating venues.

Venues must treat exported user data as confidential and must not share it with third parties.

13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, we will:

Post the updated Terms on our website and in-app.

Notify you via email or app alert where required. Continued use of the Service following changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Suspension or Termination
Unifi may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

You breach any of these Terms or community guidelines.

We are required to do so by law or regulation.

Your conduct poses a risk or legal liability to Unifi or its users.
Termination may occur without prior notice and may result in the deletion of your account and data.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, freedom from errors, or accuracy of content.

We are not responsible for delays, technical issues, or losses caused by external systems or internet failure.

Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Data loss or unauthorised access caused by your negligence.
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Unifi, its affiliates, and employees from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from:

Your misuse of the Service.

Your breach of these Terms.

Your infringement of any third-party rights.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
